Concord C2 – the ultimate luxury super watch
Concord has given many unique and stunning chronographs in the past, but the same may not be said about its recent offerings. In fact, their modern history is more interesting then the last two models that have been launched by the brand. The company has gone through plenty of turmoil and vicissitudes in the recent year. This has included losing a CEO and being able to appoint a new one along with the pressures of a demanding parent and a controversial design. It is only recently that they have launched their second luxury watch C2.
Concord had claimed with C1 that they were reinventing the way they looked at watch designing. If one is to pay attention to the critics, this reinvention did not go as well as expected. With the launch of their second design C2, it seems as if they would like to make people rethink about the deluxe living chronographs designed by Concord
Crfitics agree that the C2 is way better than the first modern watch that Concord had designed. It is not just, more marketable but definitely more wearable too in comparison to the C1. It is also not as boring and stoic as the first design. That said C2 does not offer anything particularly unique on the design front. The C2 could have been priced the luxury time piece more reasonably too.
C2 Chronograph is available in a Neo Black model that is coated in black PVC. It has a steel case, 43mm wide, and is a little on the thinner side with a thickness of 12.5mm. The C2 provokes the thought that it may be the futuristic version of Vacheron Constantin Overseas! Some of its features reflect a hangover from C1. The rubber straps have been attached to the steel case in a similar way and the seconds hand disc too reminds one of the previous model.
It would definitely prove more beneficial to Concord if they fore go their modern vision in favor of their roots. Their 90’s models like La Scala, Mariner and Saratoga will serve them better.
