For those who love expensive footwear Nike has come up with a limited edition shoe that has a tiny bit of history attached to it. The luxury shoe in question is the Nike’s Mag shoes
These are the exact replica of the sneakers worn by the character Marty McFly in the movie “Back to the Future Part II”. Michael J. Fox played the character. Nike has now launched the shoes officially and they are available via an auction on eBay. The proceeds from the auction will go the Michael J. Fox Foundation, towards helping people suffering from Parkinson’s Disease. Fox to has been diagnosed with the Disease and wishes to work towards the betterment of those who are in need of help.
The luxury auction is on until 18 September and there are only 1500 pairs on sale.
These shoes are the exact replica of the shoes that were worn by the actor in the movie. The only difference is that these shoes do not have the power lacing! The shoes are equipped with LEDs and a Nike logo on the strap that is electroluminescent. The luminescent logo and the LED’s can light up for 5 hours on a single full charge. They can be switched on by a simple tweak of the high top ear.
These shoes have been available for some time by custom orders and ardent fans have ordered the shoes especially made for them. One such fan is Mark Kurat who could not resist these top luxury products. Not only is he a fan of Michael J. Fox but also has an enviable collection of 500 sneakers on display at his house. The customized futuristic shoes that he ordered at Nike cost him $4000 and took nearly six months to manufacture. They are now proudly displayed in his dedicated show room along with the other 500 pairs.
