Art and culture are two of those things which can attract anyone. It does not matter whether you are an art lover or not, you must have heard about the very well known artist Picasso who has created many beautiful paintings. These paintings are not just the ordinary creations but hold a great cultural value. You might have heard about one of his very famous creations which had been titled Nude, Green Leaves and Bust. This famous painting by Pablo Picasso is not only famous for its beauty but also for various other reasons. The painting was finished in 1932 and has recently been auctioned off by an anonymous bidder paying the highest price ever for any painting available at any auction.

This painting was a piece of a 27-lot collection that was possessed by Mrs. Sidney F. Brody and now has been sold for a price of $104,482,500 at an auction ceremony held at Christie’s in New York City. By selling out at a huge price like this, this well-recognised painting has displaced Albert Giacometti’s L’homme qui marche I, which was basically a bronze sculpture circa 1960 and was auctioned at the Sotheby’s in London in February 2009. This painting was sold out for $104,327,006.

The whole compilation of Mrs. Sidney F. Brody was sold out for $224, 177, 500, although the bidding was initiated at $58 million. Earlier than this auction, another famous painting by Picasso, Garcon a la pipe happened to be the artist’s costliest painting ever sold at any auction. This painting was sold for $104,168,000 at Sotheby’s located in New York City in May 2004. Auctions like these come up with paintings that reflect the views and ideas of the painters of ancient era and hence these paintings should be kept with great care.
