There are a million interesting hobbies out there. If you are the indoor type, there is reading, computers, puzzles and even just listening to music. If you are the outdoor type there is camping, hunting and fishing. If you are the type that likes adventure and flying there are pilot lessons, and even the Mosquito.

What is the Mosquito you ask? It is an ultra light flying machine that is kind of like a kit car. By that I mean that you go to the Mosquito Aviation web site and decide which model you would like. Then you place your order. You can order it in pieces and build it yourself or you can pay a bit extra and have it prebuilt and test flown for you.

Basically a Mosquito is a stripped down, very basic, one person helicopter. It has both top and tail rotors. The airframe is a unibody made out of fiberglass and encased in a vinylester matrix. The engine weighs only 69 pounds and has 60 hp. It is a 2 cylinder engine with 2 cycles and uses Reed Induction. Because of the lower rpm operating speed it uses, there is less engine stress. There is also an alternator, a 180 watt one that ensures the generation of power through the battery. The start system is of course electric. Because there is a clutch on the crankshaft, the engine can be started without engaging the rotors.

If you want to get into a new hobby and you enjoying both models and flying, this could be the hobby for you. What could be better than a model that not only flies, but one that YOU can fly in? What is stopping you form ordering your Mosquito today?
