As the smallest Asian country in both population and area, Republic of Maldives proved it can do something big. This unique republic is the lowest country in the world with the average of ground level only around 4 feet and 11 inches above the sea level. There’s no wonder that global warming which makes the sea level to go up has already proved its impact on Maldives islands.

With the highest point of this country only 7 feet and 7 inches away from the sea level, Maldives are giving out their best to rescue the country. The Republic of Maldives is working big and high, even from the lowest point on earth. The solution is making floating islands. An agreement has been signed related to this solution’s facilities within Maldives government and Dutch Docklands who is familiar with reliable ways to create water developments, reducing the impact on underwater life, and also minimizing the changes to coastal morphology.

The unique thing about this floating islands idea is related to the luxurious resorts they will produce. The concept design looks so wonderful, worked on by the famous architect Koen Olthuis of Waterstudio.NL since it will be shaped like a floating star.

All facilities will be available below the green-roof terraces, also equipped with man-made interior pools and artificial beaches. While Dubai has the floating islands concept built in the dessert, Maldives tries to make it happen in Asia. On the other hand, Maldives try to modify the present islands so they will survive the future climate changes.

As an eco-friendly country, Maldives has already expressed concern about climate issues from a long time ago which results on zero carbon emission throughout the country and a campaign of teaching students in school about the environmental problems.

The Maldives Paradise is ready to be created, not only to save the island itself but also to give an opportunity for resort lovers to taste the most luxurious resort ever made by human hand on Maldives islands in an eco-friendly way
