What is the first thing that people think about when hearing about BMW? Cars of course. Well, there is something else that they should be thinking about too: luxury yachting.

It has been announced that there will be a BMW-only sale organized by Bonhams in October that is running under the name of ‘Power by BMW’. This auction will be held at the Munich HQ of BMW and there will be some really special items sold.

These luxury style items include the 1976 La Mans winner and the 1976 Spa Francorchamps winner 1976 BMW 3.0 Litre CSL Competition Coupe.

At the beginning it has been said that there are going to be cars and motorboats, lately there has been a very interesting item added to the collection: a 1950s Italian speedboat that also has a BMW engine. The interesting thing about it is that there have only two items been made and the organizers expect the boat to be sold for $350,000.

This one of the vintage boats has been created by Helm Gloeckler who has been a fan of deluxe water cruising. He got the idea to combine a light BMW engine with a mahogany powerboat. In order to be able to finish the yacht he made a partnership with Giulio Abbate.

They were the ones to turn the engine of a BMW 507 for navigation so that it would be able to propel the yacht. Although initially this item wasn’t part of the show, it has quickly become the centerpiece.

This is the kind of boat that you can only see in old movies featuring very rich characters. It is something that brings you back to the old times, when not everything was about speed, when people had the time to relax and to enjoy the gifts of life.
