Frauscher presents new hybrid-motorboats
Frauscher Hybrid Propulsion, worldwide first serial Hybrid Propulsion System for medium-small pleasure boats.
The worldwide first serial Hybrid Propulsion System for pleasure boats stemmed out of the collaboration between the nautical Austrian shipyard Frauscher and the Steyr Motors, unique on the world market of medium-small pleasure boats.
The solution ensures zero CO2 emissions, and it makes it possible to perform docking manoeuvres at low speed and to silently navigate inside the harbor.
The System allows for a speed of 5 knots using solely electric propulsion and switches to the combustion engine with an easy turn of the ignition key. The ingenious propulsion then gets “boosted” by the electric drive and secures a quicker acceleration into the planning phase lowering fuel consumption and improving response and dynamics.
Frauscher will be able to provide all its elegant pleasure boats with hybrid propulsion, becoming so the first nautical shipyard to use this innovative solution.
