The new age mantra is “Go Green” and when luxury meets mantra it can only be something spectacular. The latest luxury sailing yacht from Astheimer Ltd is a beautiful confluence of aesthetics and green thoughts. The “Solar” is as its name suggests a yacht that uses solar energy to span the waters.

Carsten Astheimer, the leader of a great team of designers who have over 300 successful projects under their belts, worked side by side with naval engineers and architect to create a 75 meter luxury yacht that has a green heart. Carsten has worked with design teams from Brunswick Corporation and Pininfarina too.

This eco friendly and yet luxurious sailing yacht not only runs on solar energy but is also designed to bring her passengers closer to the natural marvels at sea. The Solar has open spaces both inside and out to help the people on board to connect with the marine environment.

The luxury sailing yacht has a explorer hull and the exoskeletal superstructure is made of aluminum. It also boasts of the latest in solar technology. It uses panels that have been made by integrating photovoltaic panels in lieu of glazing. The team behind this concept has researched the studies done in the BIPV field and also studied huge architectural creations like the Sanyo Solar Ark (Japan).

The Solar has a unique design with completely open interiors and a three deck high atrium. The central atrium has a unique point of attraction – a live tree. The tree flourishes with the help of osmosis.

The luxury sailing yacht has a master cabin and nine luxury cabins. The master cabin has its own private deck and no doubt a great view. The other cabins have walk in wardrobes and en suite bathrooms. The passengers can also enjoy a 360 degree view from the helm station. The yacht also has a helipad and a fold out bathing platform for those who want to enjoy a swim.

A luxurious sailing yacht that cares for the planet.
