Delta is at it again. They are constantly changing, improving and trying to stay ahead of the market with their flights. This time they may have actually hit on something useful.
How many of you have ever been on a flight in the coach section and been cramped? There is not enough leg room between you and the seat in front of you, the seat backs are too skinny, armrests have to be shared and God forbid if the person in front of you should try to recline their seat because there went the miniscule bit of space that was allocated to you when you purchased your ticket.
Thompson Solutions has designed an innovative airplane seat that may just take care of each of those issues. Called the Cozy Suite, Delta will be incorporating them into their planes this year. Because these seats are staggered with each one a little bit behind the one to the right, there seems to be more personal space. Also because of this, the armrests seem to be long enough. Do not worry about the person in front of you reclining because the seats are designed to recline into themselves leaving the person behind you free to enjoy the space that should always have been theirs anyway. Seat backs in the Cozy Suites are wider and curved to offer a more comfortable trip for the passenger.
Delta is also under the impression that they will be able to add more of the seats to their planes thereby increasing passenger capacity and ultimately increasing their revenue. Because of the size and arrangement of these seats, this remains to be seen. Either way, the passengers on future Delta flights will certainly be flying in more style and comfort than they were before.
