Born on the 11th of January 1984 in Bordighera, Italy, a small town close to the French border and the glamorous shores of Monaco, Federico grew up in Sanremo, where he lived until he graduated from high school and then decided to move to Milan to pursue a Master’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering at the Politecnico of Milan. He chose to specialize in Airline Transport Management and whilst at University completed an internship partly organised by the University at the Albenga Airport. He was appointed as an assistant to the Operations Post Holder of AVA Spa, the Airport management company, and was selected to participate as a staff member at the EBACE 2007(the European Business Aviation Committee Expo) in Geneva to promote and improve the business opportunities of the Airport. During that event Federico heard about an Ab-Initio Pilot Program, which would eventually lead to employment with NetJets Europe. He decided to apply and after a rigorous selection process, was selected amongst 450 candidates and offered a position as a cadet for one of the 24 available positions. Subsequently he obtained a Frozen JAA ATPL(A) with CPL IR/ME and the MCC/JOC course at Oxford Aviation Academy and graduated in 2009. Due to the economic downturn, he was hired by Netjets but then moved to a Long Term Leave Of Abscence period of 3 years, so he decided to come back to Milan to complete his Master’s degree in Engineering. In the meantime, he's also flying as a safety pilot on a Cessna Citation CJ1+ out of Linate Airport for a private owner. On top of these professional qualifications Federico is also a semi-pro skier in Giant Slalom and Special Slalom, a kite surfer, a semi-pro tennis player and a football player. He's also memeber and press manager of the 108th club Frecce Tricolori, the Italian Air Force Aerobatic Team, that through the organization and management of social events related to the Team, rises funds for charity purposes and a memeber of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
