Mari Cha III – sparkling after a complete renovation
If you stay abreast of happenings in the yachting and boating world then you must remember talk of the Mari Cha III. This is the incredible yacht that broke the world record for crossing the Atlantic going to the Lizard from New York in less than 9 days. It is also the same vessel that won the Sydney to Hobart speed contest in 1999 by traversing the distance in less than 48 hours.
Like everything else in the world, this luxury super yacht occasionally needs maintenance and upgrades, and so the task has been undertaken by Derecktor. Their facility in Connecticut was responsible for the complete overhaul of this famous vessel. They have recently completed the renovation which took five months.
The fabulous team at Derecktor took their time in turning this renovation project into one that would be sure to rock the socks off the owners of the Mari Cha III. They made sure that they took care of every square inch of this vessel. From bow to stern, inside and out, there was not one single part of this boat left untouched.
That being said, let it also be known that in the overhaul, the hydraulics and engines were redone or replaced at the same time. All of the things that would be needed on a vessel were redone or replaced, even the marble covers in the bathrooms.
The Captain of the Mari Cha III, Captain Damien Durchon believes in Derecktor’s work because of the wonderful craftsmanship displayed in all of their work. Captain Durchon has been with Mari Cha III for as long as 7 years. Mari Cha III originally had the interior designed by John Munford and was designed by Philippe Brand, made by Sensation Yachts.
